My Story
I got started in fitness due to being picked on and bullied my entire life because of how skinny I was. In my senior year of high-school I was only 130lbs, and although I was athletic and loves basketball, I was pushed around a lot which made me not a top pick to play. After high-school, I stopped playing basketball, however, I didn’t like how I looked in the mirror and was still struggling to deal with how skinny I was. I was majorly lacking confidence. Until one day, I finally just decided to make a change.

I started working out on my own because all I knew was that I wanted to get big, no matter what it took. I desperately wanted to have self-confidence and I didn't want to deal with being made fun of anymore. After working out on my own for a while I hired a coach to help me achieve my goals. He then convinced me to start competing, so I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try.

I took third in my first show and decided to continue down this path. I made some huge progress and was so thankful for my coach that I decided that is what I wanted to do; help people achieve their goals so that they could feel as good about themselves as I was starting to feel.
That is where I fell in love with fitness and knew that I was meant to help people change their lives through fitness as well.

Where it all began ..

I had been training in a corporate gym while going to college and while my degree was in criminal justice, I knew that training and coaching was what I wanted to do.

Realizing the limitations that being under a corporate gym had, I decided the best way to turn this into an actual career was by starting my own training business.

I decided to leave the corporate gym and was a contract trainer out of another gym until things went south with that owner. I then made the decision with my business partners to open up my own gym, so that I could run my gym, training and coaching services the way I wanted to because in my head that was the only way things were really going to work how I wanted them to. I needed complete control and freedom in my business.

I've never worked harder and been more passionate about my job than I became once I started my own business. I specialise in helping my members build mass and undergo weight-loss transformations. The ideal member for my programme is anyone that is willing to put in the work to create the Alpha Life. Anyone has the capability to work hard for something they want and those are the people I want to work with.

MY Transformation

My own transformation was simply down to being fed up of how I looked and fed up of having zero confidence in myself. After being bullied for so long, you get to a point where you decide you’re not longer going to feel ashamed and I decided to take control of my life and my body.

I had no idea what this would turn into, I just knew I needed to make changes for myself so that I could be happy and confident. I continued to pursue new goals to make me grow as a person. When I started competing, I wanted to get my pro card and after 3 years I achieved that. Then I wanted to get into fitness modelling, so I made that happen, too. I continue to be motivated because I continue to strive for more. Throughout my journey, I’ve stayed motivated due to the fact that everything I was doing started to motivate and inspire other people. I knew that what I was doing and the things I could teach people could in turn help other people create a better life through fitness like it had done to me. Helping others continuously keeps me motivated to keep doing what I'm doing.
My business name, Alpha Life, represents my entire ethos in regard to training, diet and fitness in general.

Through fitness, I have been able to completely change my life into being the ‘alpha’ person I always wanted to be. This does not mean cocky or arrogant, to me, alpha means that I have been able to build myself into a strong individual, so that I can handle anything and everything that comes my way in life.  I have the confidence to tackle any obstacle and go head on with my fears. I am comfortable with being uncomfortable. At the same time, having the ability to attack all my goals through training and diet has helped create this person I am today. Everything I am has come from being disciplined about my fitness goals and I believe that always translates into the other aspects of a person’s life.

'Stay Hungry, Stay Humble' is a tattoo that I have on my shoulder. It’s a very simple, yet powerful phrase as it represents my ability to continuously strive for more. These two things keep me motivated: being hungry enough to know that I always have something to work on; humble enough to know that it keeps me motivated to help others and bring positivity and influence into other people’s lives.
